Melissa Chiu is a 3D artist and Illustrator. She loves using her 3D skills to help visualize and create whimsical illustrations, and is interested in non-photorealistic rendering styles. With 5 years of experience in advertising and 2 years of experience in games, Melissa is currently sharpening her skills as a Digital Production student at Gnomon School of Visual Effects

One Piece x Fire Emblem

A personal project where I depict One Piece characters if they lived in a Fire Emblem universe. This project combines two of my favorite series and was a labor of love and passionI drew over 30 full character illustrations for this project. cocktails

I really enjoy reading and learning about cocktails, and have always been drawn to the ones with fascinating histories. To express my fondness for these drinks, I created a monthly challenge for myself where I drew one cocktail a day, and wrote a little bit about its origins. I ended up with 31 illustrations that I was able to compile into a poster and a book!

FEH Anniversaries

I love the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes and drew some art to celebrate it's anniversary milestones for a few years. Each illustration focused on a different part of the game. I aimed to have a mixure of 3D and 2D elements in each illustration

Ink

The recent rise of generative ai has given me the urge to revisit more traditional mediums. I've always wanted to try drawing with inks, and have been fasinated by inks that specifically cannot be easily replicated though digial art and traditional printing methods.I decided to do a proper inktober, with a dip pen and a beautiful bottle of Colorverse's Ginkgo Tree Ink. It was a wonderful experience, and it taught me to be more mindful of every stroke.Since then, I've continued to do various ink illustrations. I have recently got into Jacques Herbin's Emearld of Chivor ink, which has a beautiful red sheen and gold shimmer

PAINTED ILLUSTRATION - $120

A style that's great for giving characters a vintage poster feeling. The charm of this style comes from the chunky paint strokes and the almost rougher quality of the rendering. The sketchy strokes in the backgrounds are a key feature!

CHARACTER ILLUSTRATION - $175

This style is inspired by classic Fire Emblem character illustrations. Perfect for showing off your character's design! No backgrounds can be offered for this style, but simple props can be added.

LINELESS CHIBI - $75

Colorful and flexible, this chibi style can be used in a variety of ways, such as full illustrations, small ingettes, or keychain designs. The charm of this style comes from the simple shapes and bright colors! It's especially fun with deformed proportions!Note: all the examples include a background.

GROUP ILLUSTRATION - $750

A group illustration is perfect to celebrate milestones or anniversaries! This service is recommended for illustration a large cast of characters. It's recommended to have the focus on 1-2 characters, with the rest of the cast worked into the composition. A background is included in this style, but it is expected to remain simple. I can offer a range of styles for this service; please let me know which sample is the closest to what you have in mind.

The price is a flat fee, with the expectation to draw 10-20 characters. However, I may have to add an extra fee if there are more characters or if the designs of each character is significantly complex.This kind of piece takes a lot of time to work on, so please be understanding if it doesn't progress quickly.✧ ---------- ✧ ---------- ✧ ---------- ✧ ---------- ✧

PAYMENTS

✧ Payment must be upfront. I will be sending an invoice through a business email. The commission will not start until payment is recieved.

WORK IN PROGRESS AND REVISIONS

✧ The client will be updated on the status of the work once the commission has started
✧ The earliest WIP will be a set of sketches for the client to choose from
✧ Clients are entitled to 2 revision requests. The sketch selection does not count as a revision
✧ Revision requests that come after the commission is finished and delivered cannot be honored

DEADLINES AND DELIVERY

✧ Commissions will be worked on in the order they are recieved
✧ Please let me know if you need the art by a certain date, and I will do my best to accomadate your request
✧ A rush fee may be applied in the event of a tight deadline

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

✧ I maintain the copyright of my work and can display it on any website or portfolio
✧ When sharing commissioned work online, please use a provided watermarked and glazed version. This is to deter art theft and to protect the artwork
✧ Unless discussed beforehand, commissions are only for personal use. The use of commissioned work is not allowed for advertising or promotions, or to be sold as a print.

REFUNDS

Clients are allowed to cancel for a full or partial refund. If I haven't started the piece then you will receive a full refund. If I have started on the piece, then you will receive a partial refund in relation to how much I have finished.
